Republican New Year tree - 2023

Information summary

For two years in a row we were entrusted with the task of making a Republican New Year tree, creating a holiday for children, immersing them in a fairy tale, putting on a show.

The Republican New Year Tree is a holiday of goodness, faith in miracles and magic, the atmosphere of a real New Year's fairy tale, into which the best schoolchildren of the republic were able to immerse themselves in the Tatneft Arena ice sports palace. The main theme of the show was family and family traditions.

When organizing the show, we developed content taking into account the perspective for all spectators in 360°, created projections for interaction with the scenery, artists and their location on stage.

This is a story about a boy who does not believe in a New Year's miracle, and does not even think about how exactly it can change his life. He quarrels with his parents, breaks the symbol of the New Year - the Christmas tree star. At this moment his life changes, he turns into a toy. His main task is to collect all the fragments of a broken star in order to become a boy. He travels his path not alone, but with his childhood friend, with his favorite toy - the Teddy Bear. Their journey is full of adventures: they meet many fairy-tale characters. Each story reminds the hero of the basic New Year and family values that help him change for the better.

The characters on stage spoke two languages - Tatar and Russian, so that everyone could enjoy this fairy tale.

When developing the site, we took into account the high resolution of the projection, which required large computing power. The content was developed for a variety of surfaces on which it needed to be broadcast.

To organize such a large-scale event, we created a large workshop where we invited freelance prop makers and worked together on the development and implementation of complex mobile sets, pneumatic sets, props, ambient scenery for production, interactive sets, and puppets. We also worked on mobile and voluminous, atypical sets for actors’ performances.
